PKF Kenya LLP is a leading Accounting and Business Advisory firm in the region with a diverse client portfolio. The firm is currently sourcing for talent to join our BPO team at PKF Consulting (K) Limited.
Key Responsibilities Include
- Day to day data entry of transactions such as purchases etc into the Xero accounting software
- Perform reconciliations of banks and suppliers, payroll, credit cards, VAT control and others as necessary
- Preparation of various schedules to support the management reports and financial statements
- Processing of accruals and prepayments as necessary on a monthly basis
- Maintenance of fixed asset register and depreciation schedule
- Support month-end and year-end close process for accounting assignment
- Liaise with our senior team to improve procedures and processing time to perform tasks efficiently
- Completion of the monthly financial accounting cycle for assigned clients
- Producing error-free accounting reports
- Polite, professional interactions with clients and good representation of the company
- Timely responsiveness to client needs and ensure timely resolution to queries
- Assist with timely queries on year end accounts preparation and audit
Skills and requirements
- Qualified accountant (ideally ACA or ACCA) with relevant post-qualification experience
- Minimum of 3-4 years’ experience accounting/bookkeeping in a busy environment
- Hands-on experience with accounting software packages such as QuickBooks Online, desktop and Xero accounting softwares
- Strong double entry skills
- Knowledge of relevant tax regulations e.g. corporation tax, VAT etc
- Good knowledge of IFRS
- Thorough knowledge of accounting fundamentals such as accruals, prepayments etc
- Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process
- Advanced MS Excel skills including Vlookup and pivot tables to deal with large volumes of transactions, other Microsoft 365 Office Programs, specifically Outlook, Word and Teams
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Aptitude for numbers and quantitative skills
- Highly organised, capable of managing own workload to tight deadlines
- Excellent communication skills, to ensure all key messages are communicated across the team as appropriate
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- An excellent team player
- Able to think out of the box on assignments as well as able to give new ideas to the line managers
