Effective 9 February 2026, the Tanzania Revenue Authority (TRA) will introduce the Integrated Domestic Revenue Administration System (IDRAS)—a centralized digital tax platform that brings together taxpayer registration, returns, payments, electronic fiscal receipts, assessments, correspondences, and other tax services into a single 24/7 online system to simplify compliance and enhance transparency.

The system targets all taxpayers and businesses—individuals, SMEs, and large enterprises—with one unified portal, and is expected to improve efficiency in tax administration while requiring more accurate digital reporting and timely filings, which may initially require time to learn but over time reduce administrative burdens.
