Tanzania: Waiver of Late Filing Fee for Companies' Statutory Documents

On May 24, 2024, the Minister for Investment, Industry, and Trade of Tanzania issued Government Notice No. 410, exercising powers under section 452A of the Companies Act, 2002, to designate a waiver on late filing fees for company documents at the Registrar of Companies (BRELA). This waiver aims to reduce the financial burden on businesses that have delayed filings, encouraging them to regularize their records without penalty. The initiative is part of the government's effort to promote business growth, compliance, and a more favourable investment climate in Tanzania.
