Michael holds the following qualifications and memberships:

• LLB from University of Nairobi
• Member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya – CPA (K)
• Member Tax Working Group of ICPAK

Key Experiences:

Michael has over 10 years' experience in tax advisory service. Prior to joining PKF, he served in various capacities in a Big Four firm for a period of six and a half years.

He has dealt with a wide array of tax issues – ranging from tax compliance assignments, transfer pricing reviews, VAT refund audits, VAT and PAYE reviews, tax health-check reviews, group structure and tax efficiency reviews, corporation tax, due diligence assignments, resolving KRA disputes and tax planning assignments for a range of clients in various sectors of the economy.

Besides tax practice, has been involved extensively in the National Budgeting process through ICPAK where he has previously served in the Public Finance Committee. He is currently a member of the Tax Working Group under ICPAK.

He has authored a number of tax publications among them an “Autopsy On The Challenges Facing The Implementation of the East Africa Community” and continues to widely participate in public debate for National Budgets and Public Policy Matters.
