Corporate Social Responsibility

The 9th edition of the Mater Heart Run was concurrently held Saturday May 26 2012 in Nairobi, Mombasa and Mumias. The 10 km run, held annually, aims to assist children from families who cannot afford the high cost of cardiac surgery. This year, the run aimed to raise Kshs 35 million. Over 2,000 children with heart diseases have benefited from the program since inception.

Attendance in 2012 doubled to 43,000 people supporting the Mater heart Run 2012. PKF Foundation recognizes the importance of balancing the interests of all our key stakeholders and this includes the communities in which we work with. As part of our CSR Policy and in striving to be a leader in corporate social accountability, PKF Foundation is now categorized as a Gold Sponsor of the Mater Heart Run and has contributed Kshs 250,000 to this year’s event. Additionally, PKF Kenya provides audit services for the Mater Heart Run ex-gratia.

PKF Foundation is pleased to partner with the Mater Heart Run for the opportunity to give back to the society, particularly under-privileged children who cannot afford the high cost of treatment for congenital disorders of the heart.
